UK August-October 2013- Indian Food in London

As long as I've been dating Dan, I've heard about the wonderful Indian food in London. Well, we struck out twice before finding a decent restaurant. The first time was during the first week of our stay in London and I blogged about it here.

The Terrible Indian Restaurant in London

The second time, we found a vegetarian Indian restaurant as we were shopping near Oxford Street.

I enjoy being a carnivore, but I can also appreciate vegetarian cuisine. However, I found the vegetarian choices that we made at Woodlands Restaurant to be lacking. I think that we may have made poor choices, as the restaurant was packed and doing a brisk take-away trade. The food that we ate was greasy and rather than flavorless, it almost had too much flavor, over-seasoned. I simply didn't enjoy my meal.

On our final night in London, we discovered a fantastic Indian restaurant named Rasa W1.

We really enjoyed the food at Rasa W1 and we learned that the owner's family has a restaurant in Los Angeles. We have yet to try it, but we will soon. Rasa W1, not only had yummy food, but the staff was very welcoming.

So where are all of the amazing Indian restaurants in London? What do you consider to be the best? Where should we eat? As much as we enjoyed our meal at Rasa W1, I'd love to hear some opinions to steer us in the right direction for our next trip. It's never too early to start thinking about vacation food!
