Rocksbox- Box Twelve

I issued a challenge to the stylists at Rocksbox, to fill box twelve with vibrant (non-green) colors. "Kathy N." styled my box and she met the challenge! Also, I was pleased that this box arrived in record time ( four days) and was not stalled in Santa Clarita.

The Kendra Scott Alex Earrings in Amethyst were an item from my wishlist.

I absolutely love the color and glassy texture of these earrings. However, they were larger and heavier than I had anticipated. I only wore them for a few minutes to take a picture, but my ear lobes continued to hurt for the entire morning. Ouch!

The Charlene K Charm Necklace in Fuchsia Quartz is one of the more unusual necklaces that I have received from Rocksbox. It's long and in the picture below, I've looped it in two.

Immediately, I really liked the bright stones. The way that the stones and charms are scattered is uneven on purpose, which I thought looked odd when worn. I like symmetry and this necklace left me feeling unbalanced. It even has a clasp that it doesn't need. When worn, it's not quite long enough to loop in two.

If you've been following my Rocksbox experiment, you know that I've not been a fan of Perry Street jewelry. I checked out the contents of box twelve on the website, before it arrived, and I was disappointed to see that the Perry Street Abby Necklace in Blue was included. I was certain that it wouldn't be a keeper.

I'll admit to being wrong about Perry Street. This necklace was a perfect compliment to many outfits in my wardrobe and I don't already own a statement necklace with blue stones. I wouldn't normally have paired this style necklace with a v-neck tee-shirt, but I picked the shirt for this picture to show-off the colors in the stones. They pop.

I ended up using my monthly and forever spend to purchase the necklace!

I've issued a challenge to the stylists for box thirteen: I want tangerine or coral colored jewelry. Summer is coming and these colors dominate my summer wardrobe. Let's see how they do!

Rocksbox- Box Eleven

When I originally started this Rocksbox jewelry subscription experiment, I anticipated giving it a ten box run. Then, box ten was delayed in the post and the awesome Rocksbox customer service went ahead and sent out box eleven. Ending on eleven feels funny, unbalanced. I've decided to keep it in increments of five and see where I am at box fifteen. Plus, I still get excited to get those little boxes with pink ribbons. It's like a birthday party in the mail!

Speaking of Rocksbox customer service; I'm so impressed. They respond within twelve hours ( even on a Sunday) or less, and every time the response has left me feeling like my business is appreciated. This morning, I got an unexpected email regarding the pair of merlot studs that I reviewed in box ten. They saw the flaw in the stone and as compensation, threw an extra ten dollars of "forever spend" into my account. They also asked if I had been interested in purchasing the earrings, and if so, they had a flawless pair that they would send to me. I appreciate the initiative that the Rocksbox customer service department has taken to make sure that I'm a happy customer.

Let's check out box eleven.

Green and gold were the themes of box eleven. Green is my favorite color.  I'm drawn toward green clothes and accessories, so much so, that I need to tell myself that I have enough. With this in mind, I took a careful look at box eleven, assessing whether or not I really needed these pieces in my collection.

The Ashiana London Charlie Druzy Pendant Necklace in Green, makes a bold statement.

I liked the sparkle of the stone. The rough, natural looking cut of the stone, make me think of the store, Natural Wonders. Remember that place? I think they closed sometime in the 90's, but as a kid, I used to love their rock/mineral collections.

I paired the necklace with a black Parker Pima Top, that I rented from my other obsession, Rent the Runway. The color popped against the black blouse.

It's a fun statement piece, but I didn't need another green necklace.

The Gorjana Elea Cuff is delicate and pretty. A perfect day to night piece.

I really loved the bracelet, but at $108.00, I couldn't justify the price. I have my eye on a few other non-jewelry things that I'd rather put the money towards. For example, this Kate Spade Blaze a Trail Clutch, that I recently borrowed from Rent the Runway. I NEED IT!!!!

Isn't it adorable? I have a fox obsession. Yes, I know that they aren't green.

Speaking of green, we have the Olivia & Grace Carolyn Earrings in Green Chalcedony.

I liked the style, length, and of course, color.

And they look very similar to several earrings that I already own. I wrote to Rocksbox and told them that I love green, a little too much, and I issued them a challenge to fill my next box with bright, vivid jewelry in a different color. Let's see how they do with box twelve.

Rocksbox- Box Ten

I experienced another delay with my Rocksbox shipment. For the second time in less than a month, my box got stuck at the mail depot in Santa Clarita. By stuck, I mean that the tracking showed the box arriving in Santa Clarita, and then there was no movement for a week.

This is not the fault of Rocksbox, but fearing that my box had become lost, or perhaps decided to take up permanent residency in the lovely town of Santa Clarita, I informed Rocksbox customer service.

Rocksbox customer service responded within a day, and immediately they mailed out box eleven. Box eleven ( to be reviewed in another post), arrived on the same day as the delayed box ten. Styled by Eleanor, here is what arrived in ten.

I'm a fan of Melinda Maria designs. I own several Melinda Maria rings, but I have not purchased any in many seasons. I was thrilled to have the Melinda Maria Cade Pave Ring included in box ten.

The ring doesn't strike a good balance between the delicate disc and thick band. Another problem is the pave, it's set too deep to show off any sparkle. You've gotta have sparkle! Not a keeper.

I love the deep wine color of the Loren Hope Sophia Studs in Merlot.

However, look at the right earring in the picture above. The stone has a discoloration. Dan pointed it out and once you notice the flaw, you cannot un-notice it.

I really like the style, color, and shape of these studs. They would have been a great addition to my jewelry collection, but the flaw in the stone made them a skip.

The Jill Michael Double Bar Necklace in Gold seemed very plain at first glance and I was disinterested because of previous problems with multilayered necklaces.

But when I put it on, it was delicate and flattering. The two layers hung without problems.

This necklace became the second piece of jewelry that I've purchased from Rocksbox. What really swayed my decision, was how much Dan liked the necklace. Immediately, he declared it a keeper. My husband telling me to shop, doesn't happen every day. I used my monthly and forever spent ( $20.00) towards the purchase of the necklace. A new piece of jewelry for thirteen dollars = score!
