On Sunday morning, we decided to get up early and drive over to Big Bear. As seem to often do, we missed the turn off and drove many miles in the wrong direction. However, as it usually turns out, this was a cool thing, allowing us to have an adventure off the beaten path.

We drove around the lake and into the forest.

We keep ending up places where we need a Forest Adventure Pass. I feel like the universe is beating us over the head to let us know that we need to buy one!

Eventually the road got more remote and less paved. Dan hates to have to retrace our steps, but we were forced to turn around and make the drive of shame back to where we made the wrong turn.

On the drive back, we got took this beautiful picture of Lake Arrowhead.
